Our Approach
We work closely with clients to understand their specific challenges and design tools that are practical, user-friendly, and sustainable. Our solutions leverage appropriate technology to maximise impact while minimising complexity.
Tools We’ve Built
A selection of the tools we have recently designed, built, and deployed — developed for our own field research and now available to support our clients.
TraceWalk
In 2026 we designed, built, and launched TraceWalk — an offline-first mobile app that helps field teams collect accurate location data in areas with little or no connectivity. Built to support CEGER’s own large-scale field research, TraceWalk is now available to support data collection for our clients.

TraceWalk lets survey teams relocate stored GPS points with live guidance — distance, bearing, and estimated time of arrival — record survey transects and the actual paths walked, and capture geotagged photos and landmarks, all fully offline. Data syncs automatically once a connection returns, and a high-contrast, one-handed interface keeps it usable in bright sunlight out in the field.
- Offline-first navigation with downloadable maps and boundaries
- GPS point relocation with live distance, bearing, and ETA
- Transect and walked-path recording with hybrid routing
- Geotagged photo and landmark capture with automatic syncing
- Team management and role-based work assignment
FieldPulse
FieldPulse is a real-time data quality monitoring service that helps research teams catch problems in their data while collection is still underway. It layers on top of the data-collection platform a team already uses — SurveyCTO, ODK, KoboToolbox, or Google Forms — and runs automated quality checks, statistical model tests, and hypothesis validations on each day’s incoming data, delivering an actionable report before the next morning’s fieldwork begins.
Beyond descriptive summaries, FieldPulse tracks how a study’s planned models behave on real data as it accumulates — flagging outliers, completeness gaps, sampling imbalances, and enumerator performance issues early, while they can still be fixed. Clear reports and decision support keep both technical and non-technical stakeholders informed throughout the field period.
- Automated data-quality monitoring — outlier detection, completeness, consistency, and duplicate checks, run nightly
- Enumerator performance analytics — workload, quality ranking, and productivity scoring
- Incremental statistical model and hypothesis tracking as data accumulates
- Works on top of your existing platform — SurveyCTO, ODK, KoboToolbox, or Google Forms
- Intelligent reports and decision support for technical and non-technical stakeholders
