Ambrose Ogwal has over 13 years’ experience in Uganda’s research sector: nine as a research consultant and data analyst and four as a monitoring and evaluation specialist. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from Uganda Management Institute and a Bachelor of Statistics and Economics from Kyambogo University.

He began his career as a researcher and programme evaluator in social science and food security. He has since worked with the Office of the Prime Minister (NUSAF-4 project), the Uganda Bureau of Statistics, Primehouse Consulting Group and Kilimanjaro Seeds Uganda Ltd.

He designs electronic questionnaires for baseline, midterm and endline surveys in SurveyCTO, ODK, KoboToolbox and CSEntry, and trains others to use them. He analyses quantitative and qualitative data in SPSS, Stata, EViews, EpiData, Epi Info, advanced Excel and NVivo. At CEGER he leads monitoring and evaluation frameworks and data-quality assurance.
