Biography

Ibrahim Kibaire is a seasoned researcher with over 10 years’ experience in Uganda’s research sector. He served as a team leader and trainer on the study Incentivizing Action to Reduce Air Pollution and Susceptibility to COVID-19, and as a Team Leader on the KCCA Waste Monitoring Study.

Ibrahim holds a Bachelor of Community Psychology from Makerere University, Kampala. He has worked on a range of community projects with various organisations as a researcher and field operations manager, and brings deep knowledge of mental-health issues alongside strong emotional-intelligence skills. He is also highly skilled at supporting psychological research and occupational safety and health (OSH) programmes.

He has contributed to research projects led by respected researchers in Uganda — including Mark Buntaine, Guy Grossman, and Daniel Nielson — and has worked with reputable Ugandan research firms such as Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) and the Makerere Institute of Social Research (MISR). His work has also spanned projects funded by leading international organisations, including USAID, the World Food Programme, and the World Bank.

A highly skilled trainer, Ibrahim has facilitated capacity-building trainings at Busitema University, UN Women, Justice Centres Uganda, and the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development — experience he draws on when building the capacity of research teams.
